Florida CLE FAQs
Florida-licensed attorneys must complete 30 credits every 3 years. Those 30 credits must include 5 credits in the areas of ethics CLE, professionalism CLE, bias elimination, substance abuse, or mental illness awareness, a 2-credit professionalism course produced by the Florida Bar, and 3 credits in technology CLE. Beginning January 8, 2024, the CLE requirement is reduced from 33 to 30 credits per compliance period. Each bar member must complete a two-hour professionalism course produced and approved by The Florida Bar each compliance period. “Bias elimination” courses are no longer part of the required 5 credits in legal ethics, professionalism, substance abuse, or mental health and wellness programs. If a Bias elimination course qualifies, it can be approved for general credit.
Florida-licensed attorneys can earn continuing legal education credits by exploring BARBRI's on-demand and live CLE courses.

Newly admitted Florida attorneys must complete two phases of the Basic Skills Course Requirement. Phase I must be completed within 12 months of being admitted to the Florida Bar.
